Today's Class and Tonight's Homeword 9/16/15

Agenda:
1) Warm-up: 5 Word Work Words on your desk along with the Word Work instruction sheet.
2) Today you will be given time in class to create your first word representation.  Choose one word from your group of 5 to work with and create a visual representation for it (Step 3 on the instruction sheet)  This work is to be done on a piece of computer paper and handed in before the end of class.
3) If your Word Work is completed you may continue dialoging with your short story "The Lady Or The Tiger" by: Frank Stockton
4) Mini-Lesson! Showing vs. Telling sentences: In order to work on our writing and to improve the impact it has on our reader, we need to address the difference between a telling sentence ( not as exciting) and a showing sentence (where a reader can experience something). A handout was given in class and can be found here for the homework tonight.

Homework: Complete Telling worksheet (do not do the illustration, simply write your showing sentence on the bottom of the paper.)
Dialogue the next two pages of "The Lady Or The Tiger" for class tomorrow.
