Today's (THE WEEK'S) Class and Tonight's Homework November 28-December 2, 2016

Objective: Work on a week-long project in order to understand historic background information for the book "The Outsiders".

Agenda: 1960's Newscast Project!  (In preparation for the book "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton)
1. What makes up a newscast? Watch the most current newscast here --->  http://www.cnn.com/studentnews/ 
     
2. Let's Create Our Own Newscast!!  In collaboration with Mr. Maslanka's class, you and your group will be assigned a year from the 1960's decade in order to create a "current, recent" newscast about events from your topic.  (Look at the directions linked above for more detailed information.)
    
3.  Interview Assignment - OPTIONAL!  Find someone who experienced the 1960's and ask them the following questions.

4. Agenda Book 

Homework: Watch the evening news tonight and take note of how it's organized and what makes a good successful broadcast.

1) Correct Irony WS2

2) Let's READ!!  Take a textbook (pg202) and continue reading "The Tell-Tale Heart".  Dialogue as you read paying particular attention to the visuals Poe creates.  When you are done reading, come get a Guided Question handout from me and complete the questions to test your recall knowledge of what you've just read!
