Objective: Work on a week long project in order to understand historic background information for the book "The Outsiders".
Agenda: 1960's Newscast Project! (In preparation for the book "The Outisders" by: S.E. Hinton)
1. What makes up a newscast? Watch the most current newscast here ---> http://www.cnn.com/studentnews/
2. Let's Create Our Own Newscast!! In collaboration with Mr. Maslanka's, class you and your group will be assigned a topic from the 1960's in order to create a "current, recent" newscast about events from your topic. (Look at the directions linked above for more detailed information.)
3. Interview Assignment - OPTIONAL! Find someone who experienced the 1960's and ask them the following questions.
