Today's project reminder included working on your group's actual script...all groups were to have created a shared googledoc to begin organizing their thoughts in one place.

HW! - visit your groups googledoc script and begin working on YOUR parts of the newscast.  It's a work in progress, I'm not looking for a finished product just yet ;-)

Today's (THE WEEK'S) Class and Tonight's Homework November 28-December 2, 2016

Objective: Work on a week long project in order to understand historic background information for the book "The Outsiders".

Agenda: 1960's Newscast Project!  (In preparation for the book "The Outisders" by: S.E. Hinton)
1. What makes up a newscast? Watch the most current newscast here --->  http://www.cnn.com/studentnews/ 
     
2. Let's Create Our Own Newscast!!  In collaboration with Mr. Maslanka's, class you and your group will be assigned a topic from the 1960's in order to create a "current, recent" newscast about events from your topic.  (Look at the directions linked above for more detailed information.)
    

3.  Interview Assignment - OPTIONAL!  Find someone who experienced the 1960's and ask them the following questions.

4. Agenda Book 

Homework: Watch the evening news tonight and take note of how it's organized and what makes a good successful broadcast.

Please work towards finishing your Poe Visual poster project...if energy and good use of your time occurs on Mondays then you will be given time in class on Tuesday to finish.

When you finish your project please have your independent reading book with you to read, we will not be starting a new curriculum unit the Monday after Thanksgiving!

1) Just Do It warm-up - Take a piece of computer paper, choose one of the 3 types of irony (situational, verbal, dramatic) and create an original example of that irony at the top of your paper, illustrate your irony situation using stick figures, share out at your table!
