Conflict Writing Prompt - Identify three conflicts in "The Most Dangerous Game" and explain how each conflict enhances the plot.
1) Fill-in your Topic and Conclusion boxes of your graphic organizer. *HINT* use your prompt to write your topic sentence and then reword it as your conclusion sentence!
2) Use lined paper to write your open response. If you need a copy of the story you can access your copy on activelylearn.com

1) Just Do It! Warm- Up: Table Talk about the following talking points. a) Can a place be evil? b) Can people sense evil? c) Does evil even exist? d) If so, what is it?
2) Accountable Talk "The Most Dangerous Game"
3) Graphic Organizer Review - Two different graphic organizers will be presented to you, choose one and use it for the focus activity below (#4).
4) As a class, we will brainstorm and discuss the different types of conflict addressed in our short story "The Most Dangerous Game". Using the graphic organizer of your choice, address each type of conflict by finding two pieces of evidence from the story for each type of conflict. Conflict types spoken about are listed below!

Again, find two examples of each conflict from the story, quote it and explain it. This step is HOMEWORK for tonight! Use your copy of the story from activelylearn.com to find your evidence!

1) Binder Set Up - the tabs needed for your binder are as follows: Materials, Word Work, Notes, Writing, Research
2) Journal Prompt - Who is the best superhero? Batman or Superman?
3)Accountable Talk Directions Sheet
4) Accountable Talk at tables with discussion prompt handout.
Homework - *Reminders* keep collecting sticky notes to bring in, we will use a lot of these these this year! If you have not got your hands on a notebook to use for journaling please do so this week. Lastly, make sure you have an independent reading book with you at all times, everyday in school. Your team of teachers love the independent reading program we established a few years ago so be ready to read everyday! :-)
