Welcome to the last curriculum unit of the year! "Speak" has been chosen to be our last piece of literature this year for many reasons. 2) Discussion about "resilience" and "survival". (Both are themes found in the book.)
3) Foreward is read to the students - books are handed out.
Homework: Read pages 1-24 (up to Burrow). Come to Monday's class with one deep thinking questions (a question that lends itself to discussion, YES or NO answer questions are not allowed, and make a connection, either a text to self - text to text- or text to world, to what you've read so far)
